Independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker BMS Group has announced the promotion of Roanne Gibbs to global human resources director.
As part of her new role which she began last month (July), Gibbs is responsible for the alignment of the company’s HR strategy and initiatives across its businesses around the world. She has also joined the group executive team, where she intends to be a “strong” voice for employees and diversity and inclusion.
Gibbs started work at BMS as head of human resources in 2015, bringing more than 15 years of experience in talent management and leadership development. She previously worked at Ed Broking for 11 years, where she was HR director.
Nick Cook, CEO at BMS Group, commented that the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has been “challenging” for people across the board, and the group is grateful to Gibbs for spearheading numerous initiatives around staff wellbeing that have not only supported individuals but added “enormous” value to the business.
“Her tireless work has helped us ensure that BMS puts our people at the very heart of everything we do, nurturing a culture of inclusivity while attracting the talent of tomorrow to meet the evolving needs of our clients in this digital world,” he said.

Gibbs added that she has had an “incredible” journey delivering the company’s people strategy and is proud of BMS’s integrated and high-performance culture.
