Music copyright collective PRS for Music has reported a 14.9% mean ethnicity pay gap for 2023, down from 17.6% from 2022.
Its 2023 gender and ethnicity pay gap report revealed that its median gap was 13.1%, down from 14.6% the prior year. There was an increase in the representation of people from ethnic communities, climbing from 21% in 2022 to 25% in 2023.
The employer’s mean ethnicity bonus gap was 37.2%, down from 72.2% in 2022, and its median gap was 28%, down from 45.5% the previous year. A total of 87% of white and 72% of ethnic community employees received a bonus that year.
Meanwhile, its mean gender pay gap, in favour of men, reduced from 14% to 7% in 2023, and its median gap fell from 20.3% in 2022 to 12.6% last year. The number of women in senior roles rose from 37% in 2022 to 41% in 2023.
The employer’s mean gender bonus gap for last year was 20.3%, down from 70.4% in 2022, and its median gap was 32.4%, down from 49.8% the prior year. A total of 82% of women and 85% of men received a bonus in 2023.
