Tewksbury-based insurance firm Kingsbridge Insurance has introduced a number of measures to its benefits package in order to support its 106 members of staff during the cost-of-living crisis.
The business has begun to provide employees with free breakfast and lunch each day, offering cereals, an assortment of breads, porridge, and fresh fruit. Lunch items range from salads, soups, jacket potatoes and sandwich fillers, which are in addition to the usual tea, coffee and chilled soft drinks and juices on offer.
As of January 2023, employees’ holiday allowance will rise from 22 to 25 days a year. In addition, the business will pay for two sessions per week at a local gym for any employee.
It has also partnered with Perkbox so its workforce can access yoga, Pilates and other workouts through their account, as well as find and use discounted goods and services, using their 50 points given to them by the business each month. Staff can also use its wellbeing hub, which has materials and articles to help with their wellbeing.

Paul Havenhand, chief executive officer at Kingsbridge, said: “We take the welfare of our employees very seriously, and staff morale is important to us. With the cost-of-living biting everywhere, we wanted to show them some extra support where we can.
“We have break-out areas to ensure they take time away from their work. This includes a lounge with comfy chairs, take-a-book, leave-a-book library, and games such as table football, ping pong and an arcade machine. We also know dogs can have a de-stressing affect, so employees can also bring their dogs to work if they wish. In addition, we have a number of mental health first aiders on hand, so should anyone be having a bad day or just need to talk to someone in confidence about anything, that extra support is there for them.”
