The workshops, which were delivered by wellness consultancy The Tonic, covered a range of topics, including how to fit exercise into a busy schedule, how to eat well, how to sleep well and how to live a balanced life.

The provider of job board software and CV services offers a range of health and wellbeing benefits to its 62 employees, including flexible-working opportunities, a bikes-for-work scheme, an employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, weekly yoga sessions and discounted on-site Swedish massage.

In September 2013, it hosted its first health and wellbeing week, which offered staff the opportunity to take part in its running club, yoga classes, volleyball and swimming.

Hanna Smith, HR director at Madgex, said: “Madgex is wholly committed to helping people be as healthy and as happy as they can be; not just their work self, but their whole self.

“I asked Jeff Archer [director of] The Tonic to come in to run some workshops, educating people on healthy lifestyles, how easy it would be to fit it into their lifestyle and the benefits around it.”

Archer added: “The team at Madgex responded really well to the workshops.

“In addition to establishing individual lifestyle changes for the future, we focused on uncovering personal motivation to help everyone maintain wellbeing as a higher priority, even during the busiest of times.

“Each participant left the workshop with a practical plan to take their wellbeing and performance to the next level, and we’ll be checking in on their progress regularly.”
