Arcoframe, a Merseyside-based window supplier, is to give its employees additional funding support in order to help with rising costs over the winter period.
The organisation will pay its 28 employees £160 each per month throughout the upcoming colder months to help ease the pressure of rising costs. All staff will receive the funding, which follows an 8% pay rise over the last year.
According to Arcoframe’s directors Charlie Richards and Jimmy Chorley, they have introduced the extra payments because they were concerned for the wellbeing of staff and wanted to pledge to help households over the winter period.
Richards said: “Looking after staff is key and without staff, there is no business.”
Ian Williams, logistics manager at Arcoframe, added: “As well as an 8% pay rise over the past 18 months, we have now been given this cost-of-living bonus, which will help us out over this worrying time. I have never worked anywhere before where the directors look after us so well.”
Arcoframe is not the only employer to announce additional financial support for staff to help ease the pressures of the cost-of-living crisis, with broadcaster and telecommunications business Sky set to award 70% of its UK and Ireland workforce £1,000 or the equivalent amount in Euros. It will be made in two instalments, one in the October payroll and one in January 2023, and will amount to a total investment of £20 million for the business.
