Anchor accredited as living wage employer

Housing and elder care provider Anchor has received real living wage employer accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation.

As of 22 September, the UK living wage rate for those outside of London increased to £10.90 per hour, while those based in London receive £11.95 per hour.

The business, which employs more than 9,000 people, has paid its staff the living wage since 1 December 2021, for all roles across all services.

Anchor marked its accreditation with a plaque unveiling ceremony at its head office in Bradford on the first day of Living Wage Week (14-20 November), which is the Living Wage Foundation’s annual celebration of the living wage movement.

According to the employer, the accreditation was part of a voluntary long-term commitment to its staff, to recognise their contribution and ensure they are paid a fair wage and supported through the cost-of-living crisis.
