Scandic Hotels hires Fredrik Wetterlundh as chief HR officer

Nordic hotel company Scandic Hotels Group has appointed Fredrik Wetterlundh as its new chief human resources officer.

Wetterlundh, who is due to start in August, will become a member of Scandic’s executive committee.

Up until recently, he worked at Ericsson and was responsible for driving change leadership, developing corporate culture and boosting motivation in connection with larger organisational changes. Wetterlundh has also held senior human resources positions at companies including Sobi, Pfizer, Kraft Foods – which is now known as Mondelez – and Astra Zeneca.

Jens Mathiesen, president and CEO of Scandic Hotels, said: “After a year of pandemic and the changes it has led to in our organisation, this is an important recruitment. Fredrik has solid experience of driving business-related change management and a wide range of skills within HR processes and systems in addition to corporate values across several markets.”

Wetterlundh said he was excited to be joining the Scandic team, and added: “The hospitality industry has been hit hard by the pandemic and it’s now more vital than ever to maintain a strong focus on employees, common structures, and professional development – areas where I can contribute extensive experience.”
