NDA receives menopause-friendly accreditation

NDA menopause-friendly accreditationNuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has achieved menopause-friendly employer accreditation in recognition of its support for employees affected by the menopause.

The accreditation, which was established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace, recognises high standards and workplace practices that embrace the condition. Employers are assessed and must demonstrate evidence of their support in the areas of culture, policies and practices, training, engagement, facilities and evaluation.

The support NDA has introduced includes establishing the Menohub support group, training menopause champions, and making a digital health app, provided by Peppy, available to employees and their partners, in order to reach the entire organisation in a way that best suits them. It aims to combine daily good practice led by its menopause champions with 24-7 access to guidance and advice on the Menohub to ensure menopause awareness remains high, while also working to foster an inclusive culture.

Earlier this year, the organisation received a highly commended award in the best support group category at the menopause-friendly employer awards. Gillian Thomas, lead programme controls manager at the firm, won the community award category.

David Vineall, group chief people officer and executive sponsor of the Meno Hub at Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, said: “We are thrilled to achieve accreditation, it’s testament to the work we are doing to support our colleagues, across the organisation, no matter which stage of their menopause journey they are in or how they are affected. Being an inclusive workplace brings huge benefits, for both staff and employers, and we will continue to take positive action to ensure all our NDA group employees are supported and feel their very best at work.”

NDA provides its employees with a performance-based bonus scheme, a relocation package, 30 days annual leave per year plus eight statutory public and bank holidays, enhanced statutory family-friendly leave schemes, flexible-working options, bikes-for-work schemes and an enhanced employee assistance programme.
