Toshiba has introduced a healthcare cash plan for its 320 Plymouth-based staff to help improve health and wellbeing.

The Japanese-owned electronics firm will fund one level of cover on Westfield Health's Foresight Plan for all employees, who then have the option of upgrading to a higher level of cover by paying their own premiums.

The perk allows staff to claim back some of the costs of everyday healthcare, such as dental and optical check ups, physiotherapy, chiropractic treatment, and MRI scans. It also provides a 24-hour counselling and advice line for employees and their immediate family members.

Sarah Gee, benefits officer at Toshiba, Plymouth, said: “The decision to introduce the [perk] formed part of our annual pay reviews. The plan is beneficial for both our workforce and us as a company. Employees have access to fully qualified healthcare professionals and they receive treatment quickly and efficiently, keeping absence to a minimum.”
