The Group Company rewards staff with trip to Barbados

Something for the weekend…

York-based travel firm The Group Company is rewarding its 32 employees with a holiday to Barbados to mark its 10th anniversary.

On 29 January, the entire workforce will set off for a five-star, all-inclusive break, courtesy of The Group Company’s founder Helen Bilton.

The trip serves to recognise the role employees have played in the organisation’s growth; The Group Company has achieved 50% growth year-on-year since it was founded in February 2006.

During the three-night break, employees will have the opportunity to take part in a number of activities, such as paddle boarding and an island safari.

Bilton said: “I thought about doing a big party to celebrate the 10th anniversary with suppliers and customers, but then I thought the people that really deserve a treat are the people that work hard day in, day out for the business.

“We are predominantly a service business, so it’s all about giving good service to our customers, and the only way to do that is to ensure people are happy in their job.

“Everyone works so hard and I’m very grateful for that, so I’m delighted to be able to reward them in this way.”

At the Employee Benefits headquarters, we are daydreaming about an employee-recognition scheme that involves white sandy beaches, turquoise seas and a refreshing rum punch cocktail…
