Independent hospital group Spire Healthcare has appointed Shelley Thomas as its new group HR director.
In this role, Thomas will be responsible for developing a standardised people framework for the organisation’s 11,500 UK employees, incorporating local decision-making and flexibility to accommodate Spire Healthcare’s 39 hospitals and 11 clinics.
Thomas has expertise in creating and embedding organisational cultures designed to engage staff, leading to a more productive workforce.
Previously, Thomas has worked as group organisational development and talent director and as interim group HR director at pub retailer Greene King, vice president, people at supermarket Asda and as interim HR director, talent, academy and colleague engagement at retailer Morrisons.
