27,000 Porsche employees receive profit-sharing bonus

Porsche rewards 27,000 employees with special bonus

Car manufacturer Porsche is giving its 27,000 German employees a bonus, to reward their efforts for 2019.

Employees will receive €9,000 euros (£7,887) in their April 2020 pay based on their efforts during the 2019 financial year, while an extra €700 (£613) will be made available as a special contribution towards the Porsche pension scheme or retirement plans. Porsche has also encouraged employees to donate to charitable organisations on a voluntary basis.

Oliver Blume, chief executive at Porsche, said: “Cohesion in our society is more important than ever. Industry, politics and society: together we will master the Coronavirus crisis. Porsche assumes social responsibility. That is our basic attitude and our understanding of sustainable action.

“The positive development at Porsche is the result of a team effort. Everyone has contributed. Everyone should benefit from it. The profit-sharing scheme this year stands for solidarity as well as for tax payments and purchasing power for the restart.”

Werner Weresch, chairman of the general and group works councils at Porsche AG, added: “The success of our company is only possible through the work of our colleagues. All have been very committed to Porsche over the past year. It is part of our Porsche culture that the workforce is also rewarded for it. ”
