Parkdean Holidays boosts employee engagement

Holiday park operator Parkdean Holidays has reported an increase in employee engagement following the development of engagement and recognition initiatives.

The organisation’s 2015 employee engagement survey found that 95% of its 663 permanent members of staff classed themselves as engaged, which is a 13% increase on its 2014 results.

Parkdean Holidays has introduced a number of initiatives, such as Recognition Cafes, where staff can have a coffee and cake while celebrating the month’s achievements.

Its employee of the month scheme recognises staff that have made a significant contribution, which includes entering them into a prize draw. The prize for the 2014 scheme was a trip to London for a meal and to see a West End show.

The employer also runs an incentive scheme known as ‘Road to Rome’. This rewards staff for their performance by sending a couple of employees from each department to the Italian capital.

The organisation highlights its employee engagement approach through a series of ‘You said, we did’ posters, which focus on feedback from its employee engagement survey and the actions that have been taken as a result of this.

In recognition of its investment in its employees, Parkdean was recently awarded the Investors in People Gold Standard Award; an accreditation for business improvement through people management.
