Full Agenda:

09:00: Registration, coffee and networking

09:40: Opening comments

09:45: Cross-border HR & Employment Law: Same Thing, Only Different
With the EU referendum just around the corner, there is no better time to explore the link between employment law as we know it and membership of the EU. Is it really the case that Brexit would spell the end of employee rights in the UK as we currently know them? Will it become much harder for multinational HR teams to deal with the day-to-day issues affecting employees in more than one country if Britain leaves the EU? As global chair of the Multilaw Employment Group and employment partner at Penningtons Manches LLP, Jon is well placed to advise delegates on this important topic. This session will include employment law updates where relevant.
Speaker: Jon Heuvel, Partner, Penningtons Manches LLP

10:15: International Employee Benefits: Brexit: Wellbeing or not Wellbeing?
Less than seven days after our event the polls will open for the long-awaited EU referendum. Doug Rice will take an objective look at the implications of either a 'remain' or 'leave' outcome from the poll for the world of wellbeing and international employee benefits. This is an often overlooked – yet hugely important – topic for organisations with employees based overseas.
Speaker: Doug Rice, Managing Director, Jelf International

10:45: Delegate voting

10:55: Break/Coffee/Networking

11:20: Comedy: A comic look at living and working abroad
It is so easy for employers to underestimate the challenges for employees who are required to live and work abroad. So to end our session on an upbeat and fun note, we are delighted to welcome acclaimed comedian, author, chutney maker, mod – and resident of France – Ian Moore to provide us with a humorous look at this issue. Ian is one of the UK’s best known comedians, and is a regular on TV, radio and in the print media. He has written extensively about his family life in France in his books in A la Mod: My So-Called Tranquil Family Life in Rural France and C’est Modnifique: The Adventures of an English Grump in Rural France. This is sure to be an entertaining and enlightening end to our event.
Speaker: Ian Moore, International Comedian & Author
