Moray Council launches voluntary benefits

Moray Council has launched a voluntary benefits scheme for its 5,500 employees.

The voluntary benefits programme was chosen because it gave enough variety of perks for a diverse workforce. It includes a range of regional retail discounts. Julie Benson, senior personnel advisor at Moray Council, explained: “We wanted to do something that was more inclusive for staff because we have professional employees to street sweepers, so we wanted something that would appeal to everyone.”

To communicate the scheme, the council put notices in all employee’s payslips prior to this month’s election period.
It plans to review the benefits annually.

The scheme is being provided by Vectis.
