Giant Group has introduced a voluntary benefits scheme, designed specifically for its temporary, freelance and contract workers.
The scheme launched on November 8, 2011 to all of the contractor services provider’s employees, and is open to new joiners within their first two weeks.
It will include a health cash plan, a group personal pension (GPP) plan provided by Scottish Widows, and an employee discounts scheme provided by Asperity Employee Benefits.
Matthew Brown, managing director of Giant Group, said: “Umbrella company contractors are already employees, but we wanted to enhance the relationship we have with them by providing employee benefits as well.
“Our contractors will have the best of both worlds: the kind of benefits employees might expect from a blue-chip employer while retaining the flexibility that contractors value so highly.

“These benefits will make operating through Giant Group even more attractive. Very few contractors in the marketplace receive these kinds of perks. We fully intend to explore what other benefits we might be able to incorporate and further engage our employees.”
