EXCLUSIVE: Attwaters reduces benefits disparity and increases staff satisfaction in benefits

Attwaters’ 2011 staff survey showed that 60% of respondents were now satisfied with their benefits package, compared with 38% back in 2009.

It has made healthcare benefits fairer by introducing employer-funded cash plans for support workers. Previously, only lawyers were given private medical insurance (PMI).

Also, all staff can now take advantage of 5% pension contributions from their employer after one year with the firm. Before this, lawyers were entitled to the 5% contribution after one year, but support staff had to wait two years.

Attwaters introduced a benefits portal in October. Provided by Lorica, it includes online total reward statements and new voluntary benefits including childcare vouchers, dental insurance, retail discounts and critical illness cover.
