Chilled food producer Samworth Brothers has appointed Barnett Waddingham to provide actuarial and pension administration services to its defined benefit (DB) scheme.
The company, which produces chilled food under the Ginsters brand as well as supermarket own brands, operates an open DB scheme, which has over 5,000 members.
Craig Stansfield, partner at Barnett Waddingham, said: “It is clear the company places great importance on a quality service and clear communication and we will work them to meet these expectations in relation to their pension scheme.”
Recently…termination of employment. On grounds of incapacity due to ill health being multi level disc disease and arthritis in the lumber region along with arthritis in the hands supported evidence provided by x ray readings and written evidence supported by my company doctor and also from my own doctor my employer gave me a pension forecast at the time all this happened I compared it with the most recent yearly statement I found that if I took early retirement offer I would be out of pocket by at least £40.000 if taken recently…i did ask for a enhancement of my samworth pension and was refused surely in my situation that would have been the case and due to officially retire in 20months tiime will my pension forecast be better than the last one and also I was told I cannot pay the remaining 20 months of the scheme my illness will get worse over time as stated by my doctor and company doctor can you do anything to make my life easier…thank you
