Norwich Union is to launch five training academies later this year to help its 32,000 employees develop their capabilities.
These will cover areas such as leadership, customer service, sales, financial literacy and operations, teaching skills such as relationship roles, commercial acumen, product knowledge and IT.
Some courses will be compulsory, while others will be linked to individual employees’ development plans. They will incorporate a range of learning methods including face-to-face training, conferences and e-learning.
Russell Martin, HR director, said: “Fundamental to Norwich Union’s business strategy is our people agenda – a key focus for our people agenda is the need to identify the core organisational capabilities required to deliver our business strategy.
“We are creating academies led by a member of the executive team as strategic interventions to develop our core capabilities.”
