Skipton Building Society has appointed Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) to act as consultant on its four defined benefit pension schemes.
The building society will use JLT for actuarial and investment consulting on the company’s four defined pension benefit schemes. It has also appointed JLT to provide actuarial services on three of its schemes while one other is retained by a domestic UK insurance company.
Paul Scott, group pensions director, said: "With the increased pressure and requirements placed on many companies involved in providing occupational pension schemes, we were looking for a provider who could offer the Skipton Group an extension of our own in-house team. JLT offers a great group of people to work with us as well as value for money and an approach to planning and projects that suited our needs. We conducted a competitive review and invited five actuarial consultancies to meet us and participate in the exercise."
