Medical Protection Society (MPS) has introduced a healthcare cash plan for its 180 employees.
The scheme, which was designed following feedback from employee focus groups, includes enhanced policy limits on dental and optical treatment, health screening, GP consultancy and a 24-hour confidential helpline.The focus groups found that employees wanted extensive cover toward dental and optical treatments as well as money towards a health screen, specialist consultation and counseling provision.
MPS, a not-for-profit organisation that provides legal and ethical supports for its members in the health industry, worked with intermediary of Premier Choice Healthcare to ensure the product was designed to meet staff needs, before using HealthSure to develop the†plan.
Pauline Brown, director of human resources, said: "Our employees help GPs and other professionals with clinical negligence claims, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and fatal accident inquiries so their days are incredibly intense and can be stressful.
"Our employees also understand the value of ensuring that they remain healthy and requested cover towards treatments that can help such as health screens and consultations."
