Long-service award for 101-year-old employee?

Something for the weekend…

If ever an employee deserved a long service award, then surely it is a 101 year-old man who has worked for the same organisation for an astonishing 73 years.

Herman Goldman’s employer, US-based light fixtures firm Capitol Lighting, may want to consider a number of possibilities to celebrate his achievement.

A sabbatical might be one idea instead of the typical carriage clock.

Over the years, Goldman has likely seen his pension scheme stack up some healthy contributions too, which he could use to fund some relaxation time.

The organisation may also have some lessons for other employers. After all, given that Goldman still works four days a week and recently celebrated his 101st birthday with his colleagues, the organisation must surely offer some great health and wellbeing benefits
