Exclusive: Multinational technology organisation Samsung has launched an online financial wellness programme for its 40 employees in Ireland.

Samsung first launched online financial wellness support, in partnership with Nudge, for its 1,400 UK-based staff in February 2016. As of 24 July 2018, the organisation has extended this to those in its Dublin office.

Danielle Starbuck, head of reward at Samsung, said: “The growing number of leading global employers attracted to Ireland is helping to fuel the war for talent and is raising the bar on what employee benefits packages consist of. At Samsung, we want to ensure that we are offering a similar package of benefits to our colleagues in Ireland as we do in the UK.

“It’s important to us to have a consistent approach to health and wellness and to offer our [employees] the support they need to make managing their money simpler. We’re delighted to be the first of the world’s top 10 technology [organisations] to offer personalised financial wellness support to our people in Ireland.”

The programme uses tailored content and benchmarking data to simplify money management. It provides a personalised platform that generates financial education posts, and allows the employee to follow action plans so as to achieve their own goals.

Employees also receive personalised nudges, providing tips and guidance regarding specific events that could affect them; these might be lifestyle changes, such as purchasing a house or starting a family, legislative developments that the employee should be aware of, or adjustments within the organisation itself.

The new programme was launched with an interactive masterclass, provided by Nudge. The masterclass was held in the organisation’s Dublin office, and 50% of employees attended.
