O2 Telefonica UK has launched a bespoke online discounts store which enables its employees to purchase a range of products and services at discounted rates.
All of O2’s 14,000 UK employees have access to the Summer ‘Staycation’ Deals site. Many of the offers on the website will help put the fun back into summer at an affordable price for O2 employees and their families, including discounted days out, hotels, barbecue equipment, sports events tickets and holiday packages.
According to customer research released today by the telecommunications firm, almost a third (32%) of Brits will shun a holiday abroad this summer in favour of a break in the UK. A further 47% will elect to stay at home entirely, while 21% will consider slashing the length of their holiday to save money.
Colin Watt, head of reward at O2, said: “We can’t make the sun shine, but we can stay in touch with needs and concerns of our employees and connect them to the things that matter to them. Summer holidays should be about fun, relaxation and good times, but we recognise that in the current climate money can be a concern.
