Energy company E.On has seen 96% of eligible staff transfer into its newly-introduced pension salary sacrifice option which allows them to pay less national insurance and enjoy an increase in their net pay.
670 employees have chosen to join the E.On Pension Plan for the first time this year, branded as My Pension under the company’s flexible benefits scheme, My Choice.
My Choice was launched to most employees in 2008 and E.On has seen enrolment to the scheme double compared to last year, with over 5,600 people flexing their benefits.
Ant Donaldson, senior employee benefits specialist at E.On, said: “Year on year we are seeing an increase in the take-up of My Choice among employees. Our latest addition, pensions salary sacrifice is another way we can give something back and help employees save money.
“Pensions are so important for all our employees, with about 12,000 colleagues already a member, and we hope this new arrangement will encourage more people to sign up to the scheme.”
