Hyatt Hotels Corporation has committed to providing its 45,000 employees with access to a wellbeing and mindfulness app, which will be made available to staff across the organisation’s 220 global Hyatt-branded locations in early 2020.
The new app, provided by Headspace, forms part of Hyatt Hotels’ holistic wellbeing strategy; this focuses on the three pillars of ‘feel’, ‘fuel’ and ‘function’, namely emotional wellbeing, physical elements like food and sleep, and movement and exercise.
Employees will be offered a complimentary subscription to Headspace, to support their mental health and wellbeing journeys with access to a variety of mindfulness exercises, guided meditations and sleep help.
Mark Vondrasek, chief commercial officer at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, said: “Wellbeing is a true realisation of Hyatt’s purpose; we care for people so they can be their best. By teaming up with industry leaders like Headspace, we are better positioned to care for our guests and employees and help them prioritise their own wellbeing, both during and in between stays at Hyatt hotels around the world.”
