EXCLUSIVE: A third cite time and resources as key barriers to boosting engagement

EXCLUSIVE: Far fewer respondents cite time or resource constraints as the primary barrier to improving employee engagement than in previous years, according to research by Employee Benefits.

The Benefits research 2019, published in May 2019, canvassed the views of 290 HR and benefits professionals. It found that time and resource constraints remain in second place, but that this option has dropped from 53% to 32% in the past year, which might be a result of the rising use of apps, pulse surveys and automated data analytics.

Budget, meanwhile, is a key obstruction for more than half (51%) of respondents, making it the biggest barrier by a significant margin, as in previous years.
