Chick-fil-A celebrates employees 90th birthday with a drive-thru party

Something for the weekend: US fast-food chain Chick-fil-A celebrated the 90th birthday of one of its most-loved and longest-serving employees in style.

The Atlanta branch of the organisation arranged for the staff member, named colloquially as ‘Ms Ann’, to receive a surprise birthday bash, and she was well and truly tickled pink.

Many of her friends, ranging from regular customers to firefighters, came to the drive-through party and it was certainly a celebration of epic proportions. Showering birthday love all over the fast-food legend, guests dressed their cars in brightly-coloured birthday decorations and beeped their horns in recognition of the birthday girl.

Known for her sharp mind, Ms Ann remembered every single person that drove on by, greeting them graciously like a queen, as she sat on her ‘throne’ surrounded by pastel coloured balloons.

This is not the first time the organisation has recognised Ms Ann; due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic she was forced to self-isolate for a month, but to keep her spirits high and avenues of communication open, Chick-fil-A spread the word and hundreds of well wishes came through her letterbox every day.

Courtney Ashley, chief marketing director at Chick-fil-A, said: “The community of Odessa takes care of her more than I could imagine. She’s just special in that way.”

Here at Employee Benefits, we only wish we could have been there to give our rendition of Happy Birthday accompanied on ‘percussion’ by our beeping horn.
